Job Summary

This position plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of revenue reporting from charter sources. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing key aspects of the monthly charter revenue accounting process, ensuring that calculations are completed accurately and on time for the production of journal entries. Additionally, this role will involve monitoring the charter escrow account, identifying when payments are due and when funds can be released from escrow.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform monthly billing and reconciliation process for charter customers.
  • Prepare pre-bill invoices for charter customers and create escrow backup files.
  • Monitor charter flight activity to identify modifications and cancellations used for billing charter customers.
  • Maintain charter escrow account, validating cash receipts and release timing.
  • Monitor checks to be deposited remotely and verify GL codes associated with those checks.
  • Run GL details to determine pass-through costs and retrieve invoices from the accounts payable system as necessary, including fuel price information for billing charter customers.
  • Monitor payment of accounts receivable invoices and follow up to ensure collection.
  • Coordinate with other accounting departments to support information for tax filings.
  • Participate in the month, quarter, and year-end close process by preparing assigned journal entries, account reconciliations, and other close functions.
  • Provide accurate support for internal and external auditors.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 2+ years of experience in an Accounting or related position.
  • Critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organization skills, with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft suite and strong experience in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects/tasks in a changing environment.
Preferred Skills
  • Previous experience with software platforms; Great Plains, Blackline, Skymetrics.
  • Previous airline industry experience.
  • Revenue Accounting experience.
Work Environment

This role primarily operates in a professional office environment. The Accounting department follows a hybrid work structure based on team needs and role requirements.
