Job Overview

As a Part-Time Retail Sales Representative at Office Depot, your role is crucial to our ongoing success in the competitive retail environment. You will interact with customers in a welcoming and informed manner, fostering a positive shopping atmosphere while boosting sales.

In this position, you will engage with customers, addressing their needs by suggesting appropriate products, services, and solutions to enhance their experience. Through your enthusiasm and knowledge, you will help cultivate a dynamic sales culture, improving our store's visual and merchandising standards, managing freight and logistics tasks, and prioritizing exceptional customer satisfaction. The Retail Sales Representative will contribute to a customer-focused environment, engaging with the local community, while supporting a positive culture aligned with the Office Depot core values of Customer, Commitment, Change, Caring, and Creativity. Additionally, as an entry-level Sales Representative, you will receive training in technology and print products/services, ensuring you have the expertise to assist customers effectively. You will apply innovative sales techniques to create rewarding customer interactions, contributing to the growth of our business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Customer Engagement:
    • Facilitates a positive customer experience by proactively acknowledging and engaging every customer.
    • Utilizes the selling program to promote the best solutions along with additional products and/or services.
    • Stays informed about planned advertisements, promotions, and loyalty programs.
  • Operational Excellence:
    • Maintains store and print department appearance according to company standards, ensuring a neat, clean, and well-stocked environment.
    • Adheres to all guidelines related to signage labeling and merchandise presentation.
    • Follows established sorting and stocking procedures and completes freight processes.
    • Organizes the freight sorting area in accordance with guidelines.
    • Scans, investigates, and addresses inventory shortages daily.
  • Product Knowledge:
    • Continuously develops personal selling skills and product knowledge through provided sales and service tools, including successful completion of training in Tech, Print, and other relevant areas.
    • Ongoing education in these fields is expected, including designated certifications if required.
  • Sales Compliance:
    • Ensures adherence to company policies, procedures, and practices; supports loss prevention efforts.
    • Performs additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent education preferred.
  • No prior experience necessary.
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to utilize technology for information access are required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential for establishing a selling relationship with clients and colleagues.
  • Ability to read, count, and write accurately to complete documentation and process inventory.
  • Client-focused, positive, engaging, action-oriented, and passionate about the brand, products, services, and solutions.
