POSITION SUMMARY

The Transportation Analyst is responsible for managing customer order information, pricing, and product costs, ensuring optimal product and freight selections for member cooperatives. This role involves coordinating with carriers and scheduling deliveries to meet customer needs while minimizing costs for GROWMARK.

LEADERSHIP AND SUPERVISION

This position includes providing guidance and training to Transportation Analyst Coordinators within the designated area.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as the primary dispatch customer service representative for assigned member cooperatives, including liquid fuel and propane order management.
  • Identify and select the most cost-effective sources to enhance profitability for both member cooperatives and GROWMARK.
  • Ensure compliance with procedures when tendering orders to carriers to maximize recovery.
  • Monitor energy product pricing, costs, and availability, making necessary adjustments to orders to minimize overall expenses.
  • Source qualified carriers for freight and negotiate rates to maintain acceptable profit margins.
  • Maintain accurate data for member cooperatives and brokerage customer orders.
  • Ensure all necessary documentation, including carrier contracts and insurance certificates, is in place prior to utilizing carriers.
  • Oversee inventory management for select member cooperative sites.
  • Handle NH3/UAN/DRY product orders, including communication with member cooperatives regarding delivery options.
  • Manage dry cargo freight order entry, route configurations, and scheduling to meet delivery expectations.
  • Conduct all LTL functions, including order entry, dispatch, freight bill audits, and rate negotiations.
  • Monitor carrier performance through regular quality checks and maintain communication with customers and carriers.
  • Audit carrier invoices to ensure accuracy against established rates and contracts.
  • Collaborate with sales teams to support operational needs.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintain terminal vendor loading instructions and other essential loading information. Work closely with Fleet Operations Managers to review reconciled freight charges.

QUALIFICATIONS

A college degree in transportation or a related field is typically required, along with a minimum of two years of relevant experience. Essential skills include business acumen, collaboration, effective communication, customer service orientation, decision-making capabilities, and the ability to manage time-sensitive demands.

Candidates should possess strong independent working abilities, as well as the capacity to thrive in a team environment. A valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record are necessary, along with a willingness to engage in ongoing training related to GROWMARK's policies and procedures.
