Job Overview:
The Senior Financial Analyst in Healthcare plays a pivotal role in the formulation and evaluation of annual operating budgets. This position involves assisting with the month-end closing process, scrutinizing notable discrepancies between budget forecasts and actual trends, as well as preparing necessary journal entries.
This role is essential in supporting the revenue cycle, driving business growth, and enhancing operational efficiencies within the hospital through comprehensive financial analysis, reporting, and operational assistance.
Key responsibilities include delivering financial evaluations and strategic recommendations, fostering relationships with operational leaders, and guiding new analysts and other stakeholders within the organization.
Educational Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
Experience Requirements:
Two (2) years of accounting or finance experience in the healthcare sector, or Three (3) to Five (5) years of relevant accounting or finance experience.
Required Skills and Knowledge:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; Data Analysis; Understanding of Database Fundamentals; Strong Communication Skills; Problem-Solving Aptitude; and Adaptability.
Core Responsibilities:
1. Lead financial initiatives focused on analyzing and utilizing operational data to enhance organizational performance.
2. Maintain essential information systems for productivity, budgeting, and reporting.
3. Provide financial assessments and strategic recommendations for departments based on budgetary trends.
4. Assist in the month-end closing process and analytical reporting.
5. Build and maintain relationships with operational leaders as their financial liaison.
6. Support the development of budget forecasts and assist department managers in completing their budgets.
7. Mentor new analysts and other stakeholders within the organization.
8. Lead projects aimed at achieving the financial objectives of the organization.
9. Ensure monthly financial reconciliations are maintained as assigned.
10. Assist with ad hoc analytical projects, proformas, or reporting requests.
