Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse Level 1

CAN Community Health is seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse Level 1 to join our team in Sarasota, FL. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care under the supervision of a Medical Provider and Registered Nurse.

Job Summary:

This is a full-time position that requires a strong commitment to delivering exceptional patient care. You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to enhance patient quality of life through the provision of basic nursing care.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide nursing care under the direct supervision of a Medical Provider and Registered Nurse
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to enhance patient quality of life
  • Perform patient triage, including assessment of vital signs and measurement of anthropometric measures
  • Process medication refills per medical provider's order
  • Perform venipuncture, obtain specimens, and process them according to laboratory specific requirements
  • Document all patient care in an accurate and timely manner
  • Request diagnostic test results from external laboratories and/or other healthcare providers
  • Provide assistance with referrals and coordinates services with other departments, healthcare facilities, organizations, and federal and local programs
Requirements:
  • LPN/LVN graduate of an accredited school of nursing currently licensed to practice in the state where clinic is located
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (CPR) Certification
  • Ability to read and interpret providers' notes and medication orders
  • Ability to calculate and administer drug dosages, injections, and measure results
  • Ability to maintain quality control and safety standards
Work Environment:

This position requires the use of standard nursing equipment and supplies, including medical equipment and devices such as vital signs monitors, pulse oximeters, glucose monitors, in-clinic testing analyzers, EKG machines, AED machines, and oxygen tanks.

May involve use of patient assistive devices such as walkers, or wheelchairs.

Also requires the use of a computer, and other standard office equipment such as telephones, photocopiers, scanners, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

Physical Requirements:

Neat, professional appearance.

Exert up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.

Involves sitting, walking, and standing for periods of time.

Requires expressing or exchanging ideas by means of spoken word, visual and auditory acuity.

Travel:

Travel is primarily during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.

Must be able to operate a motor vehicle and have valid insurance and driver's license.
