Job Responsibilities:

As a Lead Insurance Underwriter, you will be responsible for evaluating new and renewal insurance applications, authorizing policy modifications, managing your workload, and overseeing written business in accordance with company policies and established procedures.

You will also provide guidance to a team of underwriters, ensuring high-quality service to agents and clients.

Key Duties:
  • Achieve or surpass production targets set by management.
  • Assess new and renewal insurance applications.
  • Supervise teams to ensure effective communication of relevant information.
  • Build and sustain strong relationships with clients.
  • Promote all program products and services to clients.
  • Maintain timely communication with producers regarding submissions and decisions.
  • Review and approve endorsement requests in line with internal guidelines.
  • Monitor accounts for compliance with company policies.
  • Track production metrics to minimize risk and forecast future performance.
  • Handle policy servicing requests, including endorsements and audits, appropriately.
  • Review inspection reports and take necessary actions based on findings.
  • Ensure compliance with documentation standards and pass all audits.
  • Maintain required licenses for business operations.

Qualifications:
Essential Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or relevant insurance certification.
  • A minimum of five years of active underwriting experience or seven years in the insurance sector.
  • Must hold necessary insurance licenses.
  • Ability to analyze and comprehend essential elements of insurance policies.
  • Understand client needs and associated risk profiles.
  • Stay informed about emerging trends in the insurance industry.
  • Proficient in commercial multi-line underwriting and rating.
  • Familiarity with company software, including Windows and various underwriting tools.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with agencies.
  • Demonstrated leadership and teamwork capabilities.
  • Ability to make informed decisions.
  • Current knowledge of the insurance landscape.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel as needed for client engagements.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours when required.

Benefits Overview:

All regular employees working 20 hours or more per week are eligible for benefits, with specific eligibility determined by the division of CRC Insurance Services, Inc. offering the position.

CRC provides a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability coverage, and tax-advantaged savings accounts, along with additional voluntary benefits.

Employees can contribute to a 401(k) savings plan, with company matching contributions available after one year of service.
