MiniCo is part of the Jencap Program Administrators division, providing various specialty property and casualty insurance products across distinct industries.

Role Summary The Underwriter will operate on a hybrid schedule from our Phoenix office, managing a portfolio of business while servicing, rating, and writing specialty commercial insurance policies in alignment with our Commercial Self-storage program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee large and specialty accounts within our commercial insurance division.
  • Underwrite Property, General Liability, and Surplus Lines policies, exercising sound judgment and adhering to underwriting guidelines and insurance regulations.
  • Evaluate and price new and renewal applications, endorsements, and related documents within the designated authority level.
  • Ensure the timely delivery, follow-up, and servicing of all new business and renewal accounts as necessary.
  • Provide technical underwriting support for assigned accounts/agencies and make individual underwriting decisions on referred accounts.
  • Assess, classify, price, and bind insurance risks within the granted underwriting authority.
  • Maintain effective communication with agents regarding new and renewal business.
  • Respond promptly to inquiries from agents, underwriters, and team members.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of new marketing strategies.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in underwriting Commercial Property & Casualty Insurance.
  • Familiarity with Excess & Surplus Lines business is essential.
  • Strong customer service orientation and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to cultivate relationships with both agencies and carriers.
  • Capability to collaborate effectively within an underwriting team, including mentoring colleagues.
