As an Insurance Underwriting Specialist, you will play a critical role in assisting the Underwriting division and new product launches by managing the new business submission intake process and supporting midterm policy changes and renewals for all lines of business.
Key Responsibilities- Accurate Data Entry: Accurately process new business submissions, including entering all risk and exposure information into rating systems to develop base premiums.
- Market Research: Complete Market Reservation, OFAC, and Experian checks to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Policy Preparation: Prepare new business and renewal accounts, including file setup, web searches, and entering loss information.
- Policy Processing: Execute endorsement, cancellation, and reinstatement triage and processing within defined Underwriting guidelines.
- Broker Management: Process Broker of Service/Broker of Record requests and bind/issue new business payroll service submissions.
- Auto and Cargo Filings: Process all other defined tasks associated with new products/or vertical launches, including auto and cargo filings.
- Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a related field, such as risk management, business administration, or finance.
- Commercial Lines Experience: Knowledge and/or experience with commercial lines insurance is considered a plus.
- Attention to Detail: Must be detail-oriented and able to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
- Customer Service: Excellent customer service skills and ability to work in a team environment.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to plan and organize, with good problem-solving skills and a focus on quality.
- Accountability: Accountability and dependability are essential for this role.
