Position Summary:

The Sanitation Specialist will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in designated areas. This is a part-time role, offering over 30 hours per week, with benefits included. Candidates must possess reliable transportation and be available to work flexible hours.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage waste disposal in assigned locations.
  2. Maintain entryways by sweeping and cleaning walk-off mats, including snow removal when necessary.
  3. Dust mop hallways and other assigned spaces.
  4. Ensure restrooms are cleaned and sanitized, including mopping and disinfecting fixtures.
  5. Restock paper and soap supplies as needed.
  6. Polish mirrors and fixtures to maintain a clean appearance.
  7. Sanitize water fountains and other common areas.
  8. Vacuum offices and hallways regularly.
  9. Keep maintenance carts stocked with necessary supplies.
  10. Utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhere to safety protocols.
  11. Perform high and low dusting, as well as window cleaning.
  12. Conduct floor maintenance, including spray buffing, scrubbing, and waxing.
  13. Dispense cleaning chemicals safely and identify potential hazards.
  14. Participate in training sessions and staff meetings.
  15. Maintain compliance with training requirements as per agency policies.
  16. Complete additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  1. High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  2. Prior experience in cleaning or janitorial services is advantageous.
  3. Strong customer service skills are essential.

Skills and Abilities:

Candidates should be able to work independently, follow instructions, and possess a basic understanding of cleaning products and techniques. A commitment to fostering a culture of hard work and accountability is crucial. Reliable transportation and flexibility in scheduling are required.

Licenses/Certifications:

Annual PPD Test and Hepatitis B immunization (or waiver) are required, along with proof of immunizations for MMR, Diphtheria, Tetanus, Polio, and Varicella.

Working Conditions:

This role involves medium physical exertion, with the potential to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally. Workers may be exposed to various environmental conditions, including noise and temperature changes.
