About the Role:

As the Chief Executive Officer, you will be a key leader within our organization, responsible for strategizing, coordinating, and executing fundraising and community engagement initiatives across the region. Your leadership will ensure the effective administration of our programs in alignment with national standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Chief Development Officer to formulate and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy.
  • Support and empower regional boards, chapters, and volunteer groups in their fundraising and outreach endeavors.
  • Identify, nurture, and manage relationships with various donors and community stakeholders.
  • Engage with the regional board to advance organizational goals.
  • Promote the mission and values of Canine Companions through community engagement.
  • Recruit, lead, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of teamwork and excellence.
  • Work closely with national management to create and oversee the regional budget.

Qualifications:

Essential:

  • A minimum of seven years of experience in fundraising or business development within a mission-driven context, with a proven track record of securing significant charitable contributions.
  • Demonstrated ability to cultivate and maintain relationships with community leaders, donors, and volunteers.
  • At least five years of successful leadership and management experience, with a solid understanding of fundraising principles.

Preferred:

  • Experience in event planning and volunteer management.
  • Certification as a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) is advantageous.

Work Schedule: Full-Time

Compensation: $130,000 - $135,000 annually
