Position Overview

Frontwave Arena is in search of a Director of Ticket Operations to oversee the ticketing functions of our indoor entertainment and sports venue with a capacity of 7,500. This pivotal role demands a meticulous individual with exceptional organizational capabilities, adept at engaging with management, partners, and clients across various levels. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to perform efficiently and accurately under pressure while effectively prioritizing tasks.

Work Environment

This is a full-time, salaried role based in Oceanside, California. The working hours will fluctuate according to the needs of the organization, including evenings and weekends as required by events.

Compensation

The annual salary for this position ranges from $80,000 to $100,000.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary contact for ticketing for all events held at the venue.
  • Establish and nurture strong relationships with promoters, ticketing personnel, guests, and associated partners.
  • Oversee the recruitment, training, scheduling, and daily management of Box Office staff.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures among Box Office personnel.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and external stakeholders to address all ticketing requirements promptly.
  • Supervise Box Office operations during events, including ticket sales and will-call services.
  • Foster a positive work environment and maintain high staff morale.
  • Ensure the Ticketing department provides outstanding customer service and proactively resolves any arising issues.
  • Manage ticket inventory for events using the designated ticketing software.
  • Assist in monitoring ticket inventory levels.
  • Work with the EVP of Programming to adjust ticket pricing dynamically to optimize revenue.
  • Collaborate with various departments to enhance ancillary products that drive additional revenue.
  • Ensure compliance with ADA ticketing practices.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and archives for the Box Office.
  • Conduct daily financial reconciliations and prepare deposits.
  • Prepare settlement reports for events and participate in event settlements as necessary.
  • Monitor ticketing software and hardware, reporting any issues promptly.
  • Stay informed about key ticketing trends and embrace new technologies provided by the ticketing partner.
  • Represent the venue at relevant meetings and conferences as the ticketing lead.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.

Reporting Structure

This role reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years in a Box Office management role, including supervisory experience.
  • Strong understanding of customer service, computer operations, and cash management procedures.
  • Familiarity with major ticketing platforms (e.g., AXS, Ticketmaster, Paciolian).
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to engage positively with staff and guests.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
