Key Responsibilities:

Essential Duties:

  • Conducts a variety of accounting functions in alignment with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), including record-keeping, account reconciliations, financial and regulatory reporting, and complex financial analysis.
  • Maintains the general ledger system and oversees daily operations of the general ledger and subsidiary ledgers.
  • Supervises the accounting department to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including monthly financial statements for the organization and its branches.
  • Coordinates and manages the monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes.
  • Oversees accounts payable operations, ensuring timely processing of invoices and employee expense reports.
  • Leads the preparation and review of regulatory reports, including the quarterly Call report.
  • Guides the preparation and review of federal and state tax filings.
  • Collaborates with internal and external auditors, providing necessary documentation and support.
  • Reviews and ensures timely and accurate monthly general ledger reconciliations.
  • Evaluates daily and monthly journal entries for accuracy.
  • Oversees the annual budget preparation and financial forecasting, analyzing budget variances and profitability.
  • Manages the investment portfolio and conducts broker due diligence in partnership with the CFO.
  • Provides necessary data and prepares reports to monitor interest rate, liquidity, and concentration risks.
  • Prepares monthly Asset/Liability Committee reports and meeting materials.
  • Prepares quarterly reports for the Risk Oversight Committee.
  • Generates profitability reports and other financial analysis as requested by the CFO.
  • Establishes and maintains internal controls to ensure the integrity of systems and data.
  • Identifies and supports initiatives to achieve organizational financial performance objectives.
  • Recommends process improvements for departmental procedures and controls.
  • Inspires and develops staff to enhance their leadership and technical skills.
  • Directs and coaches team members, conducting performance evaluations and recommending personnel actions.
  • Maintains a motivated and well-trained team.
  • Ensures operational resilience across all finance and accounting functions.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting from an accredited institution; a minimum of ten years of relevant experience in a financial institution or credit union; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A minimum of ten years of direct managerial experience in finance and accounting is required. Experience in financial analysis is highly desirable. CPA certification is preferred. Experience as a state or federal examiner is a plus.

Salary Range: $114,473.52 - $171,710.28
