Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Behavioral Health Assistant to join our team at the Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services. As a key member of our Behavioral Health Department, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist behavioral health specialists and behavior analysts in developing Skills Acquisition Plans (SAPs) and Positive Behavior Support Plans (PBSPs)
  • Collect, enter, and report data on behavioral, SAP, and restraint data as needed
  • Train direct care staff in implementing PBSPs and SAPs, and provide special treatment sessions
  • Contribute to individuals' overall care plan by gathering information and data from direct care and clinical staff
  • Administer and score results of various assessments, including behavioral, psychiatric, preference, strengths, functional, and adaptive skills assessments
Requirements:
  • Knowledge of behavioral analysis theories and practice, as well as regulatory guidelines related to intellectual disabilities
  • Ability to implement educational and behavioral treatment and therapy, work with interdisciplinary teams, and communicate effectively
  • Experience with electronic health data systems, such as CareTracker and IRIS, and proficiency in Microsoft Office
