Position Summary:

A successful Territory Manager (TM) will expand the designated region through both external and internal sales efforts within the vibrant independent pharmacy sector. An effective TM will cultivate relationships with external business partners and collaborate to achieve mutual success. In-person sales presentations and business evaluations will be conducted with owners and stakeholders to secure new accounts and enhance existing relationships. Expect 80% travel within the designated region, with 50% involving overnight stays.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enhance AAP membership and API warehouse sales.
  • Retain AAP members by:
    • Maintaining a consistent schedule of sales calls.
    • Providing valuable insights regarding the retail pharmacy sector to owners and stakeholders.
  • Increase managed care (PSAO) enrollment.
  • Develop key strategic AAP initiatives.
  • Stay informed on current industry trends, events, legislation, and managed care influences to keep owners and stakeholders updated.
  • Utilize customer relationship management (CRM) software to maintain timely and insightful information for both members and prospects.
  • Efficiently manage the assigned territory in a cost-effective manner.
  • Project a professional image of AAP.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two (2) years of external sales experience showcasing top performance.
  • Experience in retail independent pharmacy is preferred.
  • Pharmacy managed care experience is a plus.
  • Ability to deliver effective and persuasive presentations, both in-person and remotely.
  • Demonstrated listening skills that convey an understanding of others' perspectives and needs.
  • Financial and mathematical acumen to present financial analyses.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Capability to define, diagnose, and resolve issues.
  • Strong pipeline and time management skills.
