Job Summary

The Belmont-Redwood Shores School District is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Business Official to join our senior management team. As a key member of our leadership team, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the district's financial and business operations, including maintenance, food services, payroll, purchasing, transportation, and more.

The Belmont-Redwood Shores School District is a highly regarded TK-8 school district, recognized for academic excellence and strong community engagement. We serve approximately 3,940 students across seven schools, with a diverse student population reflecting a wide range of racial and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the district's financial and business operations, including budget preparation and presentation, financial reporting, and financial analysis.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the business office staff, including supervision, evaluation, and professional development.
  • Develop and implement financial and operational policies and procedures to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Collaborate with district administrators, teachers, and staff to ensure effective use of resources and support for student learning.
  • Develop and manage the district's budget, including forecasting, planning, and monitoring.
  • Provide financial and operational support to district programs and initiatives, including grant management and reporting.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local, state, and federal agencies, as well as community organizations and stakeholders.
  • Stay up-to-date on relevant laws, regulations, and best practices in school business and finance.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in business administration, finance, or a related field.
  • Four or more years of experience in school business, finance, or a related field.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with experience in supervising and evaluating staff.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and analyze financial data.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to collaboration and customer service.
