About the Job

Top Gun Staffing Group LLC is seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer to join our team in Windsor Locks, CT. As a key member of our Customer Operations organization, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance of our robotic material handling system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor System Health: Regularly check the health of automated adapters, vertical lifts, and robotic vehicles to identify potential issues.
  • Troubleshoot Complex Issues: Use your technical expertise to diagnose and resolve advanced system and operational problems.
  • Communicate Technical Concepts: Clearly and concisely explain technical information to site teams and customers.
  • Document and Report Issues: Accurately document and report technical issues to engineering teams and collaborate on solutions.
  • Train and Assist Operators: Provide training and support to operators on system operation, including automated adapters, vertical lifts, robotic vehicles, and warehouse management systems.
  • Backfill Key Roles: Be prepared to step in and effectively backfill key onsite roles as needed.
  • Partner with Customers: Collaborate closely with customers and internal/external clients to ensure seamless system operation.
  • Escalate Issues: Assist in escalating production-impacting problems to support teams.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement: Participate in initiatives for continuous improvement, standardization, and improvement of the warehouse automation solution.
  • Ensure Safety Compliance: Ensure daily compliance with OSHA, client, and customer safety processes and procedures.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in electrical or software engineering, computer science, automation engineering, or related discipline.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years' experience with automated systems, including PLC (Allen Bradley, Siemens), Robot (ABB), and software languages such as SQL, Linux, Python.
  • Skills: Excellent hands-on experience with assembling, operating, and troubleshooting robotics and electro-mechanical systems.
  • Work Environment: Ability to work under pressure, in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
  • Personal Qualities: Desire to learn new equipment, assist team members, and a high sense of urgency.
Additional Requirements
  • Valid Driver's License: Must have a valid driver's license and be able to drive to clients and other customer locations.
  • Expense Management: Responsible for owning a credit card and managing expenses for reimbursement on a bi-weekly basis.
  • Physical Demands: Frequently required to walk and reach with hands and arms, regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and work at heights of up to 45 feet.
  • Safety Protocols: Must comply with all safety requirements and protocols, including Lock Out Tag Out safety protocols and fall protection safety protocols.
Work Schedule
  • Shift Options: 3 days on, 4 days off, 4 days on, 3 days off, or 3 days on, 3 days off, 4 days on, 4 days off.
  • Shift Times: Sunday - Tuesday, 5AM-5PM or 5PM-5AM (includes every other Wednesday), or Thursday - Saturday, 5AM-5PM or 5PM-5AM (includes every other Wednesday).
Compensation

$90,000 - $115,000/year commensurate with experience, plus a generous benefits package.
