Job Summary

The University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture seeks a highly motivated and experienced professional to serve as a Program Associate - Soil Fertility. This role will be responsible for implementing the goals and objectives of the Extension soil fertility programs to improve the understanding of soil fertility, nutrient management, and forage crop management for hay and pasture production.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement the goals and objectives of the Extension soil fertility programs
  • Develop and deliver quality presentations to stakeholders
  • Communicate and collaborate with extension and research faculty, staff, students, and other stakeholders
  • Collect and analyze data in agricultural settings
  • Coordinate with County Agricultural Agents, Extension Specialists, Researchers, and farmers
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Soil Science, Agronomy, or a related field plus three (3) years of related professional experience
  • Current Arkansas Pesticide Application License and FAA part 107 Remote Pilot License
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work outside in various weather conditions
  • Ability to travel and work long hours with occasional overnight stays
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Soil Science, Agronomy, or a related field
  • Experience in forage crop or pasture lands management and/or soil fertility nutrient management
  • Leadership experience, motivation, and creativity
