Solar Panel Installation Job Description

Tradeco Construction of Arkansas is seeking a skilled laborer to join our team as a solar panel installation specialist. This role involves assisting the solar pile driver operator in installing solar panels at residential and commercial sites across the United States.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate a truck/trailer to transport piles for solar panel installation.
  • Assess site conditions to ensure suitability for pile driving, including soil conditions and site grade.
  • Use measuring and reference tools to install driven piles to required specifications and tolerances.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and installation instructions to ensure accurate pile installation.
  • Understand how shading and other mechanical/electrical obstacles impact solar array installation and performance.
  • Collaborate with the mechanical foreman and project foreman to ensure installation meets all stakeholders' expectations.
  • Perform general housekeeping of the work area to maintain a clean and safe jobsite.
  • Review work progress to ensure adherence to code and specifications.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance on the truck, trailer, and pile driving equipment.
  • Identify and troubleshoot any problems that arise during pile installations.
  • Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhere to safety protocols while operating heavy machinery.
  • Exhibit exemplary attendance and punctuality.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • One to two years of experience in general construction is preferred.
  • Reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and an insurable driving record are required.
  • Successful completion of a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical is required.
  • A Commercial Driver's license (CDL) and Department of Transportation (DOT) certification are preferred.
  • Knowledge of solar panel system installation techniques.
  • Knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations, lifting techniques, and safe worksite practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor in outdoor environments.
  • A safety-first mindset and a strong work ethic.
