Soil Fertility Program Specialist

Job Summary:

The University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture is seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to fill the position of Program Associate - Soil Fertility. This role will be responsible for implementing the goals and objectives of the Extension soil fertility programs to improve the understanding of soil fertility, nutrient management, and forage crop management for hay and pasture production.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement the goals and objectives of the Extension soil fertility programs.
  • Operate in an independent, decision-making role in the planning and execution of the soil fertility program.
  • Communicate and collaborate with extension and research faculty, staff, students, and other stakeholders as needed to effectively contribute to the goals and objectives of the extension soil fertility program.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Soil Science, Agronomy, or a related field plus three (3) years of related professional experience, OR a related Master's degree is required.
  • Preferred Qualifications: A Master's degree in Soil Science, Agronomy, or a related field, experience background in forage crop or pasture lands management and/or soil fertility nutrient management experience, experience with data collection in agricultural settings, data analysis, coordinating with County Agricultural Agents, Extension Specialists, Researchers, and farmers, Current Arkansas Pesticide Application License, Current FAA part107 Remote Pilot License, and leadership experience, motivation, and creativity.
