Job Summary

Tradeco Construction of Arkansas is seeking a skilled laborer to join our team as a solar panel installation specialist. This role involves assisting the solar pile driver operator in installing solar panel arrays and related structures. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of solar panel system construction, site preparation, and safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely and efficiently operate a truck/trailer to install piles for residential to commercial scale solar projects.
  • Assess the site to ensure suitability for pile driving by examining soil conditions, determining site grade, and recognizing and/or removing obstacles to pile installation.
  • Use measuring and reference tools such as levels, rulers, plumb bobs, squares, lasers, and string lines to install driven piles to required specifications and tolerances.
  • Read, comprehend, and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and installation instructions to ensure piles are driven to the correct depth and alignment.
  • Understand how shading and other mechanical/electrical obstacles impact solar array installation and performance.
  • Engage with the Mechanical Foreman and Project Foreman to ensure installation meets all stakeholders' expectations.
  • Assess and confirm system design and pile layout.
  • Perform general housekeeping of the immediate work area to maintain a clean and safe jobsite.
  • Review work progress to ensure adherence to code and specifications.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance on the truck, trailer, and all pile driving equipment.
  • Maintain appropriate DOT, maintenance, and job records.
  • Identify and troubleshoot any problems that arise during pile installations, such as equipment malfunctions or unexpected soil conditions.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhere to safety protocols while operating heavy machinery.
  • Exhibit exemplary attendance and punctuality.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • One to two years of experience working in general construction is preferred.
  • Reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and an insurable driving record are required.
  • Successful completion of a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical is required.
  • A Commercial Driver's license (CDL) and Department of Transportation (DOT) certification are preferred.
  • Knowledge of solar panel system installation techniques.
  • Knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations, lifting techniques, and safe worksite practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor in outdoor environments.
  • An individual who can think spatially and possesses a safety-first mindset and a strong work ethic.
