Billing and Collections Supervisor

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Billing and Collections Supervisor to join our team at Behavioral Innovations. As a key member of our revenue cycle team, you will be responsible for coordinating and performing various administrative duties related to provider credentialing and enrollment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process Improvement: Define and lead new process improvements for the department to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Account Management: Balance and manage accounts related to cash in Central Reach, ensuring accurate and timely payments.
- Remit Code Management: Possess working knowledge of remit codes related to electronic remits and hard copy remits.
- Payment Research: Research unidentified payments or recoupments to determine correct transactions using various payer platforms or through the bank.
- Payment Evaluation: Evaluate payments/denials received for correctness and ensure they are applied accordingly.
- Bad Debt and A/R Management: Identify bad debt write-offs and A/R adjustments, initiating write-offs and adjustments in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Overpayment and Duplicate Payment Resolution: Identify any overpayments and/or duplicate payments and investigate and resolve accordingly.
- Interdepartmental Communication: Maintain contact with other departments to obtain patient or insurance information needed for claim payment.
- Compliance and Regulatory Adherence: Ensure that the activities of the collection operations are conducted in a manner that is consistent with overall department protocol, and are following Federal, State, and payer regulation, guidelines, and requirements.
- Account Verification: Verify billing accounts with accounts receivable ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted.
- A/R Reduction: Reduce outstanding A/R and aging reports.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to work effectively with teams, managers, and executive staff.
- Confidentiality and HIPAA Compliance: Maintain the strictest confidentiality; adhere to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations.
- Knowledge and Skills: Maintain a broad range of knowledge of insurance plans, medical terminology, billing procedures, government regulations, and medical codes.
- Technical Skills: Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word/Excel.
- Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills: Possess excellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational skills and ability to communicate and provide feedback in a professional manner; use good judgment and make sound decisions and behave with tact, decorum, and diplomacy.
Requirements:
- Education and Experience: Associates degree and three (3) years relevant experience in credentialing or related work experience may be substituted in lieu of educational qualifications.
- Preferred Experience: 1-3 years of knowledge in a behavioral health or medical clinic setting preferred, but not necessary.

This position will work in the Corporate (Home) Office location.
