Position Summary

Toyota's Cincinnati Region is in search of a driven and experienced technician, specifically trained in Toyota/Lexus vehicles, to take on the role of Regional Automotive Technical Consultant.

Key responsibilities will include delivering in-dealership technical support for vehicle repairs, generating Field Technical Reports aimed at improving product quality, and advising Dealers on training initiatives for their technical staff. This role is integral to a District team that champions local initiatives throughout the year.

Reporting to the Regional Technical Service Training Manager, the selected candidate will contribute to the Regional Office's goals of enhancing vehicle, parts, and service sales.

Key Responsibilities

  • Enhance customer loyalty by ensuring Dealers adhere to the "Fix It Right the First Time" protocol for vehicle repairs.
  • Boost customer satisfaction by providing direct, hands-on support to dealers and technicians for diagnosing and resolving technical issues, including direct interaction with customers.
  • Compile and submit Field Technical Reports to Product Quality Service Support (PQSS) for ongoing product enhancements.
  • Assist District Parts and Service Managers with technical warranty matters to ensure accurate warranty repairs and claims processing.
  • Guide Dealers in their technical training efforts to maintain a sufficient number of certified technicians.
  • Support the development of technician skills through active management of Skill Level Guidelines.
  • Provide technical support to the TMNA Legal Department and Regional teams for the National Center for Dispute Settlement, including inspections and investigations.
  • Timely report any concerns to the Field Technical Training Manager for future product improvements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Automotive or Technical discipline, business degree, or extensive relevant work experience with an associated vocational education degree or certificate.
  • Experience in collision and accident reconstruction analysis.
  • Possession of all eight (8) certifications (A1-A8) plus L1 is preferred.
  • Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time.
  • A valid motor vehicle record that meets company standards is required for this position.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with dealership operations and Fixed Operations.
  • Relevant experience with Electrified Powertrain technologies, including Hybrid and BEV vehicles.
