Smyth is searching for Technical Paint & Supply Technical /Sales Representatives who have experience calling on automotive and fleet body shop accounts within the Greater Cincinnati area. This position is responsible for establishing and maintaining profitable relationships with customers on behalf of the company and for actively prospecting for new accounts and maximizing the sales potential of existing customers. As the Paint & Supply Technical/Sales representative, you are the primary external representative of our organization; you must convey a sense of expertise in automotive supplies, as you serve as a key educator to our business accounts.

Requirements:

Responsibilities

  • To maintain and grow paint and body shop supply sales to new and existing customers within a specific territory.
  • To participate in sales meetings with technical advice on paint, body shop products and refinished products. This support may be required on existing, new, or competitor products as well as competitor tech services.
  • Participate in take down, set up and maintain mixing systems in customer shops and Smyth stores as needed. This could involve a scheduled maintenance program for existing customers covering system maintenance, mixing system cleanup, updates on color systems and other related services associated with mixing systems and its supporting equipment.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must possess a minimum of 2 years as an outside automotive paint distributor.
  • Must have the ability to work well in a fast-paced sales environment
  • Excellent prospecting capability.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills.
  • Strong persuasive and interpersonal skills and sales aptitude.

Smyth offers a base salary along with a monthly commission plan.
