Position Title: Outbound Operations Assistant Manager

Overview: The Outbound Operations Assistant Manager plays a crucial role in supporting the Senior Manager and Manager in overseeing freight forwarding functions and enhancing personnel performance. This position is pivotal in orchestrating the planning, coordination, and transportation of customer products and equipment to fulfill internal delivery objectives.

Job Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily operations and assess delivery performance to meet organizational goals.
  • Facilitate the timely release of equipment to carriers and monitor carrier performance for on-time pickups and deliveries.
  • Coordinate daily outgate performance to exceed production targets and satisfy customer expectations.
  • Ensure effective communication with all stakeholders, including carriers, customers, and specialists.
  • Resolve operational challenges and provide direction to outbound staff.
  • Track yard inventory aging and in-transit aging to optimize outbound processes.
  • Assist in developing action plans to achieve operational goals.
  • Oversee cargo shipment coordination and management.
  • Manage in-house carrier operations for efficient utilization.
  • Adhere to guidelines to maintain appropriate accounts payable/receivable rates for profitability.
  • Monitor yard performance metrics to achieve turnaround goals.
  • Evaluate carrier pickup times to enhance delivery efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with established standard operating procedures.
  • Prepare business plans, analyses, and forecasts.
  • Support pricing structure development by analyzing cost components.
  • Conduct market pricing analysis and generate reports.
  • Engage in carrier management and system operations to expand capacity.
  • Participate in the bidding process and maintain profitability metrics.
  • Ensure accurate shipment release data and timely audits.
  • Act as a versatile support resource for all operational needs.
  • Collaborate with teams to resolve discrepancies and meet customer requirements.
  • Recommend and implement strategies for departmental performance improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree is required.
  • 6-9 years of experience in Logistics and Supply Chain is essential.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities are required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and database management systems is expected.
