POSITION SUMMARY:

The Facilities Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and cleanliness of the Bronx Family Housing Program and tenant residences. This role involves supervising staff, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, and coordinating various maintenance tasks.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise and guide assigned porters and trainees.
  • Conduct maintenance and cleaning operations within the housing program and apartments.
  • Document findings and provide recommendations for improvements.
  • Ensure adherence to city, state, and federal environmental standards.
  • Oversee the regular maintenance of safety equipment, including smoke detectors and fire extinguishers.
  • Coordinate extermination services and manage general repairs, including painting, plumbing, and electrical work.
  • Manage relationships with external contractors as needed.
  • Maintain communication with building managers and superintendents.
  • Handle inventory management, purchasing, and distribution of maintenance supplies.
  • Organize the pickup and delivery of supplies and maintain the program vehicle.
  • Be available for emergency situations and document all repair follow-ups.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

WORK SCHEDULE:

This is a full-time position, requiring 37.5 hours per week, with a schedule from Tuesday to Saturday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Experience in maintenance work for at least two years.
  • Ability to perform light plumbing, electrical, and general repair tasks.
  • A valid driver's license and willingness to operate the agency vehicle.
  • Basic computer skills and documentation capabilities are essential.
  • Strong organizational skills are necessary; bilingual Spanish is preferred.
