Role Summary:
The Marketing and Sales Coordinator plays a pivotal role in supporting a dynamic sales and marketing team within the Highlights Books and Consumer Products division. This position involves managing project details, crafting presentations, overseeing design initiatives for sales and marketing, assisting in the execution of trade shows and events, organizing media and account communications, and more. The coordinator will actively participate in engaging team meetings and client interactions, gaining invaluable experience in project management, marketing, and sales.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive administrative support, including scheduling meetings, coordinating mailings, and tracking budgets.
- Develop presentations to assist the sales and marketing team.
- Support the execution of trade shows and consumer events.
- Maintain and update lists of accounts, reviewers, and sales representatives for communications.
- Manage the inventory of the book library and place orders for restocking and new titles.
- Distribute books and catalogs to accounts as required.
- Coordinate departmental reporting, including marketing and sales reports.
- Become proficient in all internal systems and software.
Initial Expectations:
- Demonstrate the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
- Exhibit comfort in using and creating presentation materials.
- Plan and execute meetings and events efficiently.
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional business stakeholders.
- Prioritize various responsibilities and recognize when assistance is needed.
First Month Goals:
- Show competence in critical internal systems such as MyHouse, STAR, and Airtable.
- Understand the roles and responsibilities within the sales and marketing team.
- Grasp the long-term objectives of the department and the overall business.
First Year Objectives:
- Develop robust project management skills.
- Comprehend the workflow of the sales and marketing team.
- Gain a general understanding of the broader Highlights business.
- Build strong, productive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
Supervisory Role: None
Education and Experience Requirements:
- 1-2 years of experience in Consumer Products; experience in the book industry is preferred.
- An Associate or Bachelor's degree in liberal arts, Communication, or Business is preferred.
- Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software is required.
- Experience supporting sales and marketing teams is essential.
- Experience in managing and tracking various data sets.
Qualifications:
- A high level of ambition and drive.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent follow-through.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational abilities.
- Willingness to travel up to 10% as needed.
Physical Requirements:
