Job Summary

The One World Observatory is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Food and Beverage Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our hospitality services team, you will be responsible for supporting all food and beverage operations, ensuring exceptional customer service, and maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in staffing, scheduling, training, and counseling of staff to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Directly manage staff while interacting with customers to provide a world-class experience.
  • Maintain and control high-volume food and beverage inventory, ensuring accurate stock levels and minimizing waste.
  • Train, educate, and enforce responsible service of alcoholic beverages, evaluating compliance with corporate procedures.
  • Develop and enforce standards for service, sanitation, and product and food quality, ensuring consistency across all operations.
  • Ensure all cash handling procedures are documented and enforced, maintaining accurate records and minimizing discrepancies.
  • Ability to interact with co-workers to assure compliance with company service standards, inventory, and cash control procedures.
  • Conduct physical audits of inventory and product, researching and performing reconciliations to ensure accuracy.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
  • All applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Strong attention to detail and extremely organized, with elevated time management and prioritizing skills.
  • Must meet state and city health requirements for food handling and alcoholic beverage service.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting.
  • Must be able to work fluently in English.
  • Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds up and down stairs/ramps.
  • Ability to work extended hours, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must have sufficient mobility to perform assigned production tasks, including constant reaching, bending, stooping, wiping, pushing, and pulling for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in food and beverage operations, preferably in a high-volume environment.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures, as well as responsible service of alcoholic beverages.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
