Position Overview
As a member of our Accounting/Finance team, you will typically begin your career in key locations. Job responsibilities will vary based on your initial assignment.
The Finance division offers new hire roles in areas such as Financial and Commercial Services, Financial and Performance Analysis, Treasury, and Audit. You may also have the opportunity to participate in a hybrid office work program designed to provide flexibility while maintaining the benefits of in-person collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Your responsibilities may include:
- Delivering accounting, business analysis, and decision support to operations and management.
- Engaging in revenue, cost, or investment accounting, government reporting, and internal auditing.
- Conducting management reporting and analysis, and overseeing credit administration.
During your initial year, you will participate in the Finance Onboarding Program, which is designed to familiarize new hires with our company culture and operations. This program includes training sessions led by experienced Finance professionals, covering essential concepts of upstream oil and gas operations and our strategic approach.
After gaining a minimum of one year of experience in a Finance role, you will be eligible to apply for the Employee Development Program. This initiative aims to enhance your understanding of ConocoPhillips and the energy sector while accelerating your skill development in leadership, communication, change management, and networking. Exposure to emerging technologies and innovation processes is also a vital aspect of this program.
Qualifications
Basic/Required:
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Current academic standing: Senior or Graduate Student.
- Expected graduation timeframe: Fall 2024 through Spring/Fall 2025.
- Completion of at least 9 hours of Accounting coursework upon graduation.
- Willingness to work in specified locations.
- A minimum cumulative and major GPA of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to build strong relationships based on trust and collaboration.
- Demonstrated ownership of actions and accountability.
- Understanding of key financial and quantitative indicators.
- Ability to apply innovative thinking to solve problems or enhance processes.
