Position Overview
Land Administration is a dynamic and functionally unique team, consisting of two primary asset regions: the Permian Business Unit and the Gulf Coast & Rockies Business Unit. Each asset presents unique opportunities for skill and experience growth. Your daily responsibilities may vary based on projects, deadlines, and additional tasks, creating an engaging and challenging work environment.
As part of Land Administration, you will play a vital role in establishing, maintaining, and protecting the legal ownership of real property assets for ConocoPhillips. Your contributions will be essential in analyzing legal documents such as oil and gas leases, contracts, title opinions, and conveyance documents to establish and maintain joint venture and revenue ownership. You will also address owner inquiries regarding lease interpretations, ownership interest calculations, payments, and ownership transfers. Additionally, you will maintain lease acquisition costs and create visual representations using spatial data for both surface and mineral ownership to support business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Lease and Title Analyst:
- Analyze and interpret oil & gas leases and contracts to clarify legal ownership, acreage figures, payment amounts, and due dates.
- Lead the establishment and maintenance of lease records in Quorum Land Suite.
- Authorize and monitor payments made to mineral owners, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Establish and maintain cost ownership and COPAS data in Quorum Land Suite to ensure appropriate billing to partners.
- Ensure compliance with critical lease and contract obligations.
- Collaborate with Land counterparts to ensure timely receipt of necessary information and documentation.
- Develop a network of contacts and maintain positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Review and interpret oil and gas leases and contracts to assess their impact on settlements to interest owners.
- Lead the establishment and maintenance of ownership records in PRA.
- Authorize timely and accurate payments to interest owners.
- Interpret marketing arrangements to determine remittance responsibilities.
- Foster positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Basic/Required:
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Business, Accounting, Finance, Energy Management, Agricultural Economics, Economics, or a related discipline.
- Current level in college: Senior.
- A minimum cumulative and major GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to deliver results through realistic planning to achieve goals.
- Ability to generate effective solutions based on available information and make timely, ethical decisions.
- Adaptability to respond resourcefully and positively to new challenges and demands.
