Position Overview

The role of Client Support Specialist requires a proactive, empathetic, and detail-oriented individual who excels in working with clients experiencing significant mental health challenges. This position is dynamic and requires meticulous attention to detail to ensure clients qualify for our services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a high-volume intake process for mental health services, including handling referrals, enforcing attendance policies, and scheduling appointments to facilitate the onboarding of new clients.
  • Confirm Medicaid eligibility to ensure prospective clients have the necessary medical coverage and meet NYPCC's admission criteria.
  • Engage in approximately 40 to 45 daily interactions with new clients, utilizing strong interpersonal and communication skills to build rapport and guide them through the intake process.
  • Assist in matching clients with therapists post-intake, including reassigning caseloads during therapist transitions, ensuring continuity of care in a fast-paced environment.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Supervisor.
Qualifications:
  • Bilingual; fluent in English and Spanish
  • Associate degree in a relevant field
  • Experience in a social service or mental health setting is advantageous
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems
  • Experience in a fast-paced work environment is essential
  • Ability to adhere to workflows and manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Exceptional customer service and communication abilities
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Problem-solving skills are crucial
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Additional Information

Salary: $23.00 per hour

Compensation is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
