Position Overview:
  • Role Type: Ongoing with potential for permanent placement
  • Work Schedule: Monday through Friday
  • Working Hours: 9 AM to 5 PM with one flexible late day from 11 AM to 7 PM
  • Work Environment: Transitional Housing Facility
Key Responsibilities:

The Resident Support Specialist will be tasked with:
  • Conducting assessments for current, new, and prospective clients referred by relevant city services
  • Creating individualized living plans (ILPs) for families, addressing the needs of all family members
  • Leading clinical case discussions with clients in partnership with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment with ILP objectives
  • Engaging in clinical case review meetings and team discussions
  • Providing crisis intervention support, including on-call assistance as required
  • Coordinating mental health service referrals
  • Assessing mental health status for residents upon admission through comprehensive evaluations
  • Facilitating mental health and psychiatric care coordination
  • Building a network of social service providers for resource sharing
  • Organizing and leading group meetings for residents
  • Performing additional duties as necessary
Required Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience working with homeless populations
  • A Master's Degree in Social Work from an accredited institution
  • Proven experience and sensitivity in working with diverse homeless families, including those identifying as LGBTQ+, the elderly, and individuals facing substance abuse or mental health challenges
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and reporting requirements
  • Clinical expertise, including the ability to conduct psychosocial assessments and develop tailored living plans
