Insurance companies use the reports to properly insure commercial construction sites under Builder's Risk policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough on-site inspections of commercial construction sites to identify potential risks and hazards.
  • Prepare detailed reports on the inspection findings, including photographs and diagrams, to assist insurance underwriters in making informed decisions.
  • Travel within a reasonable territory, approximately 60 miles, to conduct inspections and gather information.
  • Utilize specialized software or web-based systems to upload completed reports and supporting documentation.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in a related field, such as construction project management, safety officer, or insurance construction specialist.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex information to insurance underwriters.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Professional certifications, such as CSP, CCM, CSM, CSMC, or CSD, are preferred but not required.

High-quality, accurate loss control surveys are essential in guiding insurance underwriters in selecting profitable business and assisting insureds in controlling losses through the demonstrated value of loss control services provided.
