POSITION SUMMARY

The Sales Agency Business Manager is accountable for overseeing the commercial activities of designated principals within a specified marketing territory. The core objective is to enhance sales performance and expand market presence for the brands represented, while ensuring profitability for both our manufacturers and Acosta Group.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Achieve the sales volume, market share, and essential sales goals (including merchandising, product assortment, pricing strategies, and shelf placement) while minimizing costs.
  • Realize key performance indicators and outcomes at the most efficient selling cost, maximizing revenue streams for the company (including brokerage fees, commissions, bonuses, and contest earnings).
  • Effectively communicate the priorities of principals to Retail Sales Managers, IT Sales Technology Managers, Marketing Managers, Business Managers, and the retail sales team to fulfill in-store objectives and business targets.
  • Report directly to the General Manager or Team Leader.
  • Lead and engage in the creation, design, and presentation of Acosta's introduction to new principals.
  • Build and nurture relationships with both principals and customers, maintaining proactive communication with key stakeholders.
  • Function effectively as a collaborative team member.
  • Facilitate ongoing communication between General Managers and key principals, as well as between principals and other managerial staff.
  • Work in conjunction with Retail Sales Managers on significant retail initiatives (such as new product launches, sales campaigns, contests, etc.).
  • Organize market visits and key account engagements for principals.
  • Leverage knowledge of customer dynamics, market trends, and principal objectives to successfully advocate for specific programs and initiatives, while aligning with company goals – engaging Marketing, Technology, and Sales Support resources as necessary.
  • Utilize insights from Senior Vice President, General Manager, Team Leaders, and Senior Business Managers to comprehend and leverage customer strategies, developing impactful sales presentations that meet principal objectives.
  • Provide constructive feedback regarding the effectiveness of principals' strategies, sales programs, and initiatives to both the principal and the General Manager.
  • Deliver timely insights, expertise, and selling priorities from principals, along with retail-ready selling tools (such as organizers, surveys, etc.) to the Retail Sales Manager and shared resources (Marketing, Technology, and Sales Support).
  • Maintain up-to-date account distribution records.
  • Regularly review market pricing reports for accuracy and competitive activity, collecting and reporting on all competitive actions.
  • Offer feedback to the General Manager on enhancing organizational capacity and improving business operations.
  • Proactively share customer and manufacturer insights with team members to strengthen organizational capabilities.
  • Manage personal skill development proactively.
  • Ensure adherence to all client procedures and policies.
  • May require expertise in client proprietary systems to manage promotional plans and fund allocations.
  • Monitor and take corrective actions as necessary in financial management, including deductions.
  • Fulfill physical requirements as outlined.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Demonstrated success in sales, preferably within a food brokerage or national organization.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, presentation, negotiation, and sales capabilities.
  • Ability to analyze sales and marketing data to create effective sales presentations.
  • Proficient in various software applications that support sales functions.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
