Role Summary
As a pivotal member of our healthcare team, the Medical Assistant contributes significantly to the mission of Planned Parenthood of Tennessee and North Mississippi by delivering outstanding healthcare services to our patients. Your daily responsibilities will encompass patient evaluations, educational outreach, venipuncture, laboratory tasks, instrument sterilization, preparation and assistance in procedure rooms, meticulous medical record keeping, and front office support.
Daily Schedule
The workday commences with a team huddle and typically concludes in the early evening. Our full-time Medical Assistants operate on a four or five-day schedule during standard weekdays.
Compensation and Benefits
Hourly Compensation: The starting hourly wage for this role ranges from $20 to $25, contingent upon certification and experience. Employees are acknowledged for their ongoing professional development and contributions during annual performance evaluations.
Employee Benefits: Full-time staff members receive 100% employer-funded medical, dental, life, AD&D, short- and long-term disability insurance, with options for vision care and pet insurance. Additionally, a 401K plan with employer matching is available.
Work-Life Integration:
Our full-time employees benefit from generous paid time off, accruing 15 days in the first year and 18 days in the second year. There are also 10 paid holidays and two floating holidays. After one year of service, employees are eligible for a fully paid 8-week parental leave program, allowing them to spend quality time with family.
Team Environment
In this role, you will operate under the guidance of the health center supervisor and collaborate closely with our center clinicians. You will be part of a dedicated team committed to fostering a supportive and nonjudgmental environment for both staff and patients.
Commitment to Excellence
Successful candidates will be certified medical assistants or have completed an accredited medical assistant program or possess an associate's degree. They will bring valuable experience from a clinical healthcare setting, demonstrating a strong dedication to our mission and the delivery of high-quality healthcare, alongside exceptional customer service skills. Confidence and competence in patient care and handling of personal health information are essential.

As a healthcare provider and participant in Medicare/Medicaid, Planned Parenthood is required to ensure that its workforce is fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and its variants.
