Position Overview:
Our Pediatric Gastroenterology practice is seeking a dedicated full-time Medical Assistant (MA) to support our vibrant team in providing exceptional care. This role is essential in maintaining the efficiency of our specialty practice.

Work Schedule:
Full-time, Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Medical Assistant will be responsible for a variety of tasks that ensure smooth operations within the clinic.

  • Evaluate medical records for urgent requests and specific patient needs.
  • Assist the clinical team under the supervision of the Nurse Manager, including preparing patients for examinations and collecting necessary information for documentation.
  • Support treatment procedures, perform routine diagnostic tests, conduct phlebotomy, and administer injections as required.
  • Deliver patient education based on established protocols.
  • Manage incoming clinical inquiries, assess patient concerns, and respond according to clinical guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate documentation using electronic medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Adhere to practice policies regarding appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and other administrative duties.
  • Provide additional support to clinical services as needed.
  • This position is located within our office clinic.

Qualifications:
  • Strong critical thinking abilities, proficiency in computer systems, attention to detail, and a personable demeanor are essential for success in this role.
  • Prior experience in Gastroenterology is advantageous.
  • A minimum of 6 months to 1 year of relevant medical experience is required.
  • Phlebotomy skills are preferred.
  • Bi-lingual candidates (Spanish) are preferred.
