Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and collaborative Pediatric Medical Assistant to join our team at University Physicians Association. This full-time role is essential in providing support within our pediatric specialty practice.

Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: The Pediatric Medical Assistant will handle a variety of tasks to ensure smooth operations and high-quality patient care. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing incoming phone inquiries related to medical concerns.
  • Assisting in patient examinations and treatments under the supervision of healthcare providers.
  • Performing administrative, clinical, and clerical duties to support medical staff.
  • Reviewing patient records for urgent requests and special requirements.
  • Preparing patients for examinations by gathering necessary information and rooming them accordingly.
  • Administering routine diagnostic tests, including phlebotomy and injections, as well as scheduling tests with medical facilities.
  • Providing patient education as directed by the healthcare team.
  • Triage clinical care calls, assessing patient needs and responding in accordance with established protocols.
  • Documenting patient interactions and maintaining electronic medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Adhering to practice policies regarding appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and other administrative tasks.
  • Offering support to clinical services as required.
