PandaTree is dedicated to fostering language learning among children aged 2 to 17 through engaging online lessons. Our innovative videoconference platform and interactive curriculum make learning enjoyable and effective.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate engaging conversations that enhance children's Mandarin fluency using our unique video-conference platform and educational content.
  • Support students in learning new vocabulary and correcting mistakes, while maintaining a personalized word list for each learner. After each session, provide a brief update on the student's progress.
  • Conduct tutoring sessions lasting either 25 or 50 minutes, with an additional 5 to 15 minutes allocated for lesson preparation. All sessions are recorded for quality assurance and student review.

Qualifications:

  • Native-level fluency in Mandarin Chinese.
  • Proficient in English, both spoken and written.
  • Possession of a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in education or language-related fields.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience working with children, preferably in educational settings. Previous tutoring experience is advantageous.
  • Exhibit patience, enthusiasm, and a fun demeanor, creating an encouraging atmosphere during online sessions.
  • Must reside in the U.S. and be legally authorized to work here.
  • Reliability and punctuality for scheduled tutoring sessions are essential.
  • Commitment to a minimum of 9 months of service with PandaTree.

Technical Requirements:

  • Stable, high-speed internet connection (minimum 100 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload).
  • Recent laptop or desktop computer (less than 2 years old), either Mac or PC.
  • Functional camera and microphone (built-in or external).
  • Well-lit environment to ensure clear visibility during sessions.
  • A quiet, private space free from interruptions, with a neutral background for online tutoring.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Hourly pay ranging from $18 to $24, with higher rates for those tutoring over 15 hours weekly.
  • Flexible scheduling options, allowing you to choose your available hours (15 to 30 hours per week).
  • Work remotely from the comfort of your home.
  • Part-time employment status, with some employment taxes covered by PandaTree.
  • Compensation for training time and for lessons canceled within 24 hours.
  • Bi-weekly payments via direct deposit.
