PandaTree is dedicated to fostering language acquisition in children aged 2 to 17 through engaging online lessons. We utilize a unique videoconference platform combined with an interactive curriculum to deliver high-quality educational experiences.

Position Summary
We are currently expanding our team and are in search of native-fluency Mandarin Chinese-speaking educators to provide personalized tutoring sessions. As a part-time employee, you will earn between $18 and $24 per hour, with the flexibility to choose your working hours within a range of 15 to 30 hours per week from your own home.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate engaging conversations that enhance children's Mandarin fluency using our proprietary video-conference platform and dynamic content modules.
  • Support students by introducing new vocabulary and correcting errors as necessary, while maintaining a personalized word list for each learner.
  • Conduct tutoring sessions lasting either 25 or 50 minutes, with a brief preparation time required for each lesson. All sessions are recorded for quality assurance and student review.

Qualifications

  • Native-fluency in Mandarin with excellent articulation.
  • Proficient in English, both spoken and written.
  • Possession of a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree focused on education or language.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting. Previous tutoring experience is advantageous.
  • Exhibit patience, enthusiasm, and a fun demeanor, creating an engaging atmosphere for online learning.
  • Must reside in the U.S. and have legal authorization to work in the country.
  • Dependability in attending scheduled tutoring sessions is essential.
  • Commitment to a minimum of 9 months of service with PandaTree is required.

Technical Requirements

  • Stable, high-speed internet connection (minimum 100 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload).
  • Recent laptop or desktop computer (less than 2 years old), either Mac or PC.
  • Functional camera and microphone (built-in or external).
  • Well-lit environment for clear visibility during sessions.
  • A quiet, private space free from interruptions, with a neutral background for conducting online lessons.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Hourly pay ranging from $18 to $24, with higher rates for those tutoring over 15 hours weekly.
  • Flexible scheduling options, allowing you to select your available hours.
  • Work remotely from the comfort of your home.
  • Part-time employment status with some employment taxes covered by PandaTree.
  • Compensation for training time and for lessons canceled within 24 hours of the scheduled start time.
  • Bi-weekly payment via direct deposit.
