Position Overview

La Scuola International School is in search of dedicated and enthusiastic Primary Education Instructors for the forthcoming academic year.

We particularly welcome candidates with a background in the IB PYP (IB Primary Years Program). Applicants should demonstrate the ability to deliver an inquiry-based curriculum, exhibit strong teamwork skills, and possess a proactive and adaptable approach. Final candidates will be required to conduct a teaching demonstration or submit a video if located overseas.

The Primary Education Instructor will assist in executing the daily educational program in alignment with the school's policies and philosophy, under the guidance of the Division Director and Head of School.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Child Development Certificate, or a minimum of 5 years of experience working with children is required;
  • At least 2 years of teaching experience at the K-8 level, preferably within a language immersion program or an IB accredited institution;
  • Bilingual and bi-literate in Italian and English, with native or near-native proficiency in Italian;
  • Experience in a Reggio Emilia inspired educational setting;
Essential Skills
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking in both English and Italian;
  • Understanding of the Reggio Emilia educational approach;
  • Familiarity with the IB-PYP Curriculum framework or inquiry/project-based methodologies;
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, along with strong interpersonal abilities;
  • Problem-solving capabilities, creativity, and the ability to excel in a dynamic environment;
  • Skill in curriculum planning and leading fellow educators;
  • Excellent public speaking skills for presentations to parents and colleagues;
  • A genuine passion for working with children, including those with mild learning differences;
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a collegial and cooperative atmosphere;
  • A commitment to being an active and enthusiastic member of the La Scuola community;
  • A strong dedication to equity, inclusion, and a diverse educational environment;
  • Consistent attendance and punctuality.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Designing, planning, and implementing appropriate curriculum goals and long-term projects in accordance with IB-PYP guidelines;
  • Setting educational and developmental objectives for students, both collectively and individually;
  • Preparing the learning environment (both indoor and outdoor) to support educational goals;
  • Establishing and maintaining personal connections with each student's family;
  • Communicating effectively with parents.
Additional Information

Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.

La Scuola may offer a teacher exchange visa for three years for candidates holding a BA in Education/Pedagogy or teaching credentials from their country of origin, along with a minimum of two years of teaching experience in a primary/elementary school setting.

All employees must provide documentation proving eligibility to work in the United States prior to commencing employment.

Additionally, the final candidate will be required to pass both Criminal Justice Department and Federal Bureau of Investigation Fingerprint Clearance, undergo a physical examination, and provide recent documentation of a negative TB test and other immunization records.

Estimated annual salary range: $62,400 to $126,697, depending on qualifications, credentials, and experience.
