Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Pastry Chef to join our culinary team at Rosewood Sand Hill. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for leading the pastry department and ensuring that our guests receive exceptional dining experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the pastry department, including supervising staff and maintaining high standards of quality and service.
  • Develop and implement new menu items, recipes, and presentation styles to enhance the dining experience.
  • Collaborate with the Head Chef to ensure seamless kitchen operations and maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene.
  • Monitor and control food costs, inventory, and labor expenses to optimize profitability.
  • Recruit, train, and develop pastry staff to ensure they have the skills and knowledge required to deliver exceptional service.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to health and safety regulations and Rosewood Hotel Group standards.
  • Stay up-to-date with culinary trends, techniques, and ingredients to continuously improve the pastry department's offerings.

Requirements:

  • Minimum two years of experience in a similar capacity for a 4 or 5-star hotel or restaurant.
  • High school diploma and culinary training certificate or equivalent pastry experience.
  • Red Seal Certification and knowledge of food handling (FoodSafe certificate).
  • Ability to work well under pressure, prioritize tasks, and maintain attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and management.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of guest information and hotel data.

Physical Requirements:

The successful candidate must be able to exert physical effort, endure various physical movements throughout the work areas, reach up and down, remain stationary at times throughout work periods, and satisfactorily communicate with guests and co-workers to their understanding.
