Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Executive Sous Chef to join our team at Oak View Group. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our kitchens, ensuring guest satisfaction, profitability, and a positive work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage food and labor costs through effective control measures, including portion controls, kitchen timings, and inventory rotation.
  • Control labor costs by scheduling kitchen staff, cross-training, and developing employees.
  • Ensure that food products meet OVG standards of quality and consistency, and develop menus that maintain quality, consistency, and style.
  • Supervise line set-up, prep, and breakdown activities, and delegate tasks to line personnel.
  • Coordinate the storage, maintenance, and repair of kitchen equipment, and assist with the delivery and set-up of catered services and food service areas.
  • Train and develop kitchen staff, and promote a positive and compliant employee relations climate.
  • Ensure compliance with health, sanitation, safety, and employment regulations, and maintain accurate records and administrative requirements.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of kitchen management experience in a full-service restaurant or events venue.
  • Demonstrated track record of meeting projected costs.
  • Professional appearance and presentation required.
  • Knowledge of and skill in using computer software, including MS Word/Excel/Outlook.
  • Maintains a current Food Handlers card and alcohol service permit if required by state or local government.
  • Working knowledge of employee scheduling in a hospitality environment.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain certification in a nationally recognized sanitation program.
