About the Role

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our team at Sierra Space. As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for researching, designing, developing, testing, certifying, deploying, and improving cutting-edge products and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conceptualize and design new products and processes throughout the product lifecycle
  • Develop and implement advanced mission payloads and electronic systems
  • Work on highly integrated aircraft, orbital, and space exploration systems
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to derive data needs, sensor and instrumentation selections, data architecture, and perform calibrations and data analysis
  • Develop and integrate custom network hardware and perform network testing
Requirements
  • Bachelor's of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or other related discipline
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience
  • Conceptual knowledge of engineering principles and practices
  • Basic understanding of Computer Aided Engineering tools
  • Familiarity with working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
Preferred Qualifications
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry
  • Experience with flight test instrumentation or spacecraft instrumentation
  • Experience with Data Acquisition System architecture
  • Practical knowledge of Analog and Digital Sensor functionality, installation, and calibration processes
  • Experience in IRIG 106 Chapters 9, 10, 11
  • Experience in programming languages such as Visual Basic and Python
  • Experience in Database design and SQL
  • Experience with hardware testing, development, qualification, and supplier management

  • Rarely exposed to loud noises
Security Clearance

This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance. U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance for employment. Non-U.S. citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance.
