Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team at Advocate Health. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our clinicians in delivering exceptional patient experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepares patients for exams by obtaining vital signs and gathering pertinent health information
• Performs laboratory procedures, such as strep tests and wound cultures, using aseptic technique and standard precautions
• Assists physicians and advanced practice clinicians with procedures, such as pelvic exams and allergy testing
• Administers medications, under physician orders or medical group-approved standing orders
• Communicates effectively with patients, clinicians, and other healthcare team members to ensure smooth clinic flow

Requirements

• LPN: Licensed Practical Nurse license issued by the state in which you practice, and Basic Life Support certification
• MA: Basic Life Support certification, and completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or 2 years of verifiable experience
• High school diploma or equivalent, and proficiency in computer skills, including keyboarding and electronic medical records systems
