Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for exams by obtaining vital signs and documenting health information.
  • Perform laboratory procedures, including strep tests, wound cultures, and specimen collection.
  • Assist physicians with procedures and surgeries, such as pelvic exams and allergy scratch testing.
  • Administer medications under physician orders, including immunizations and pain medications.
  • Provide basic patient education on tasks, skills, and self-care.
  • Communicate with physicians and other healthcare team members to ensure accurate and timely information.
Requirements
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to develop rapport and maintain positive relationships with patients, staff, and physicians.
