Key Responsibilities
- Safety:
- Ensure the safety and well-being of team members and visitors by promoting and enforcing all safety policies and procedures.
- Foster a clean and secure working environment, emphasizing the prevention of potential hazards and supporting safety initiatives.
- Maintain the 6S process and conduct audits to enhance and sustain safety and cleanliness.
- Team Management:
- Oversee staffing by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training team members.
- Implement performance management processes and maintain necessary documentation.
- Encourage professional development through additional training and educational opportunities.
- Support team engagement and development efforts, delivering communication that motivates staff.
- Quality Assurance:
- Manage adherence to quality plans, conduct layered process audits, and ensure compliance with standard operating procedures.
- Engage with team members to promote hands-on, collaborative problem-solving approaches.
- Drive the Majestic Production System (MPS) to achieve operational excellence through various methodologies.
- Customer Service:
- Utilize ERP/MRP systems to run production lines efficiently, meeting customer demands.
- Optimize shipping and receiving processes to fulfill customer requirements.
- Ensure equipment functionality by coordinating repairs and collaborating with maintenance teams.
- Contribute to the overall success of Majestic Steel by assisting other departments in achieving their objectives.
- Cost Management:
- Leverage continuous improvement tools to optimize operational costs.
- Analyze data and trends to enhance business acumen and reduce expenses.
- Manage overtime, headcount, and resource utilization effectively.
- Ensure the team meets all established goals and objectives.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the plant manager.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Three (3) years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment or an advanced degree (Associate's, Bachelor's, or technical degree).
- Proficiency in MS Office or equivalent software.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with a focus on team engagement and performance management.
- Effective communication skills with peers, supervisors, and management.
- Ability to plan and prioritize workload with minimal supervision.
- Willingness to take ownership of responsibilities and drive improvements.
- Strong attention to detail and adherence to processes and procedures.
- Basic understanding of continuous improvement methodologies.
- Commitment to ensuring the safety of team members and visitors.
- Associate's, Bachelor's, or technical degree.
- Five (5) years of leadership experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Knowledge of continuous improvement and lean methodologies.
- Oversee all team members assigned to the area, responsible for hiring, retention, development, and performance management.
- Must be able to walk, sit, stand, climb, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl for extended periods.
- Must be able to work in varying temperature conditions.
- Must be available to work outside of normal business hours as needed.
