Security Operations Manager

Position Summary

Tactical Air is actively seeking a Security Operations Manager to oversee our Industrial Security Program. This role is essential in managing facility clearances, personnel clearances, classified information systems, and secure communication protocols across various contracts and business sectors. The Security Operations Manager will also act as the Insider Threat Program Senior Official (ITPSO), responsible for the development, training, and implementation of the program. This position requires interaction with employees at all levels, management, and government entities to ensure compliance with the National Industrial Security Program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct and manage the company's Facility Clearance (FCL), Personnel Clearance (PCL), Insider Threat Program (ITP), and Operational Security (OPSEC) initiatives.
  • Serve as the Senior Official for the Insider Threat Program, fulfilling all necessary training and reporting obligations.
  • Support the Communications Security (COMSEC) Program, including the handling of Controlled Cryptographic Items (CCI), reporting to relevant authorities, conducting audits, and liaising with subcontractors and clients on COMSEC matters.
  • Oversee daily personnel processing, program evaluations, document control, audits, violation investigations, and maintenance of records related to classified materials.
  • Provide security assistance for Contractor Deliverable Requirements List (CDRL) and contract execution as needed.
  • Manage daily security and clearance operations, including processing access requests, security training, and visitor management.
  • Act as a liaison with external security organizations.
  • Update and implement security Standard Practices and Procedures (SPP) and other security plans.
  • Initiate and maintain classified Information System Authorization to Operate and related System Security Plans, policies, and Incident Response Plans.

Qualifications

  • Three to five years of experience in a security management role.
  • Experience as the Insider Threat Program Senior Official (ITPSO).
  • Background in managing a classified Information System security program.
  • In-depth knowledge of the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) and relevant DoD security directives.
  • Proficient in using security databases such as DISS, NBIS, eQIP/eAPP, ISFD, NISS, eMASS, and/or DIBNet.
  • Experience in conducting security briefings, debriefings, and training sessions.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office and cloud-based file sharing platforms.
  • Valid state driver's license.
  • U.S. Citizenship with an active DoD Top Secret security clearance.

Preferred Skills

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Experience in developing and executing Operational Security (OPSEC) programs.
  • Industrial Security Professional (ISP) Certification.
  • Prior experience in the aviation industry or with federal contractors.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally (with assistance if necessary).
  • Regularly required to ascend and descend stairs and/or ladders.

Work Authorization

  • Must be legally eligible to work in the United States and complete a U.S. government I-9 Form.
  • Tactical Air Support maintains a Drug & Alcohol-Free Workplace. Pre-employment, random, or for cause drug/alcohol testing is required.
  • Occasional exposure to aircraft hangar or warehouse environments, which may include loud noises, fumes, and varying climate conditions.
  • Specific work hours will be determined by operational and contractual requirements.
  • Occasional evening, weekend, holiday, and overtime work may be necessary.
  • Some travel to various work sites may be required.
