Job Summary

The Junior Management Assistant will play a key role in supporting the Mayor's Office for Victims' Rights in its mission to advocate for and enforce the rights of crime victims. This position will interact directly with individual survivors of violence, their advocates, community-based organizations, and government agencies relevant to the areas of victims' rights and violence prevention.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and conduct intakes with possible victims and survivors
  • Maintain records and client database(s) and compile information and data in preparation for reports and presentations
  • Communicate with the public, government agencies, and community-based organizations via multiple means of communication
  • Assist in staffing, convening, and creating agenda materials for bodies convened by the Mayor's Office for Victims' Rights
  • Coordinate public events, trainings, group meetings, and other convenings on behalf of the office
  • Gather, compile, analyze data, and assist in preparing reports using database programs, spreadsheets, word processing applications, and other tools
  • Support the oversight of victims' services and violence prevention work citywide by reading, reviewing, researching relevant information, and accurately communicating information to the Deputy Director and Director
Requirements

Possession of a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university. Qualifying experience performing professional-level administrative duties in functional areas such as program/office/operations management, budget development and/or administration, or contract/grant administration may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
