Job Overview

Benchmark Hotel Theodore is seeking a highly skilled Culinary Team Leader with a passion for creative menu development to join our dynamic team.

Job Summary

This is an exceptional opportunity to lead a team of talented chefs and culinary professionals, driving innovation and excellence in food preparation and presentation. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and executing daily production, preparation, and presentation of all food for the hotel in a safe, sanitary work environment.

Responsibilities
  • Athrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment, leading a team of cooks, stewards, and other culinary staff to achieve high-quality food production and presentation.
  • Develop and implement creative menus that reflect seasonal availability and meet the culinary standards of the hotel.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef to create, cost, and implement seasonal menus and special menus.
  • Conduct daily walk-throughs of the kitchen, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Communicate effectively with the team to ensure preparation and presentation standards are met.
  • Manage the finances of the department, analyzing and controlling costs to achieve a profitable operation.
  • Ensure thorough knowledge of food allergens and handle guest requests with food allergies with a high sense of urgency.
  • Work closely with the culinary team to ensure prep sheets are updated and properly used daily.
  • Guide the nightly cleaning of all kitchen areas and follow up with the pm stewarding crew to ensure the dish area is clean and organized for the following day's service.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience as a cook in a high-volume professional kitchen.
  • Basic and advanced cooking methods knowledge.
  • Ability to work long hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently.
  • Active Food Handlers certification.
  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds and be on your feet for long periods.
  • At least 21 years of age.
Benefits

Benchmark Hospitality offers a competitive salary, commensurate with experience. The estimated salary for this role is $65,000 - $75,000 per year, depending on qualifications and location.

In addition to a competitive salary, Benchmark Hospitality offers a range of benefits, including medical and dental insurance, 401K match, paid time off, and opportunities for professional growth and development.
