Print Production Specialist

Position Overview:
The Print Production Specialist will deliver outstanding customer service and solutions tailored to clients' printing and copying requirements.
This role involves adhering to production protocols to ensure the creation of high-quality, professionally finished materials utilizing various printing and production machinery for cutting, binding, and laminating.
Additionally, the specialist will provide basic troubleshooting and maintenance for copiers and printers.Key Responsibilities:
Assess, prioritize, and process print requests from various sources based on complexity and urgency. Ensure that all outputs are thoroughly quality checked and align with the submitted specifications.
Timely delivery of print jobs while maintaining comprehensive logs of all tasks performed, including service records.
Responsible for minor upkeep of reproduction equipment, addressing paper jams, placing service calls, and conducting routine cleaning.
Record daily meter readings for each duplicating machine and monitor inventory levels of print supplies, including paper and toners.
Communicate with clients regarding estimated completion times, clarify instructions when necessary, and inform them of any service delays or limitations.
Assist in the opening and closing of the print center, ensuring a tidy and professional environment.
When utilizing high-speed, high-volume digital publishing printers, make necessary adjustments to image quality using printer software, and organize folders and directories for print-on-demand orders. Accommodate special requests from clients for unique printing tasks, such as large format printing, poster production, and manual or handbook-sized prints.
Compile monthly production and volume reports to assess productivity and prepare billing.
May be required to perform additional tasks as directed by the Site Manager, including:
Sending, receiving, and delivering faxes.
Document scanning as requested.
Preparing mail/packages for shipping.
Light housekeeping duties, such as making coffee and maintaining conference room order.
Due to evolving office automation technologies, the specialist will be expected to learn new features and functionalities of duplicating machines, faxes, and scanners as they are introduced.
May also handle some mailroom responsibilities and other tasks as assigned by the Site Manager or Assistant Site Manager.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
1-5 years of experience in a print center environment.
Familiarity with general job functions and a basic understanding of detailed operational aspects.
Knowledge of machine operations ranging from low to high-volume high-speed duplicating equipment.
Proficient in using various reproduction-related equipment and systems (fax, scanner, punches, staplers, inserters, folders, paper cutters, spiral-binding, velo-binders, stitchers, collators, and counters).
Ability to work under close supervision with detailed instructions and regular performance checks.
Exceptional customer service skills, along with a professional demeanor and appearance.
Willingness to work overtime and meet deadlines.
Ability to follow directives and manage physical demands.
Strong communication skills are essential.
Physical Requirements:
Physical activity is necessary, including frequent bending, reaching, lifting, and standing while organizing print output into boxes or containers.
May lift and/or move items weighing up to 50 lbs.
