About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Public Relations and Communications to join our team at Four Seasons Hotel & Private Residences Nashville. As a key member of our marketing team, you will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive public relations and communications strategy that supports the hotel's business objectives.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five to seven years of experience in public relations, with a proven track record of delivering results in a fast-paced environment. You will be a strategic thinker with excellent communication skills, a strong sense of quality, and a creative mindset. You will also be proficient in leveraging social media networks and related monitoring tools.

Responsibilities
  1. Develop and execute an annual PR strategy in support of the hotel's marketing plan, including media relations, paid digital marketing, restaurant and bar marketing, segment strategies, and key PR initiatives.
  2. Create innovative publicity programs that increase awareness and positive perception of the hotel, its restaurants and bars, spa, and personnel.
  3. Maximize opportunities for publicity in all media through careful research and targeted editorial pitch plans, focused on key feeder markets for both the group and leisure segments.
  4. Maintain professional relationships with media to support achieving the goals outlined in the PR plan, including the distribution of targeted media releases, media kits, pitches, and other PR-related material.
  5. Take a lead role in crisis communications in support of the hotel senior management team.
  6. Maintain website content and updates website with new promotions to generate additional revenue.
  7. Manage the hotel's social media and digital efforts.
  8. Comply with Four Seasons brand standards for marketing communications.
  9. Ensure that all hotel promotions, advertising, direct mail pieces, and collateral are in keeping with Four Seasons image and reflect the highest level of professionalism in content and presentation.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
  • A minimum of five to seven years of experience in public relations, with a proven track record of delivering results in a fast-paced environment.
  • A university degree in journalism or communications or equivalent experience in public relations, marketing, or journalism.
  • Strong and effective interpersonal skills.
  • Proven relationships with media, community, and business contacts that have delivered demonstrable results, and the personality to maximize these contacts.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), a strong sense of quality, and a creative mindset.
  • A self-starter that can multi-task and prioritize.
  • Proficiency in leveraging social media networks and related monitoring tools.
  • The ability to create newsworthy events, develop story ideas, and follow through with pitch leads.
